The Experiment

When I grow up, I want to be just like my kids. (except with my own cash and without having to ask permission) On second thought, when I grow up, I want to be me. (only more optimistic, aware, enthusiastic, curious, intuitive, imaginative, faithful, persistent, innocent, sincere, playful and simplistic) Actually, I don’t want to grow up.

Be More Childlike is a one-year experiment in consciously trying to be all of the things that come naturally to my kids. The theory being put to the test is: Will being more childlike make me a better adult? My mission is to enjoy each day looking at the world through wider, brighter, more childlike eyes while inspiring others to do the same. By the end of this year, I hope to be a more intentional friend, wife, mom, daughter, sister and writer. I really hope to make some new friends.

Each month, I will focus on a different childlike quality. Each week,  there is a BYO-Brains party called Big Idea Monday or hitch a ride in my Delorean for  Time Travel Tuesday. Mondays are meant to spark your creative juices. Tuesday is a day of play.  You may occasionally hear from guest contributors or see a random video post. I will be reading about my favorite highly functioning children including Einstein, Disney and Picasso. My Reading List includes other blogs, personal development gurus, scientific research, spiritual masters and some fun fiction when relevant. I promise to generously share all I am learning, including my mistakes.
