Being Neighborly

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.
Hebrews 13:1-2
My neighbor dropped by yesterday with a dinner invitation, a dog biscuit for our dog and a gourmet cucumber and elderflower liquer popsicle for me. This is the same neighbor who drove to the veterinarian’s office to hand deliver a get well card for our puppy when she was getting spayed. The same woman who brought moonshine to a potluck recently. The same woman who is married to an artist The Dreamist who invented a stylus that hooks up to his hand while he sleeps, so he can draw his dreams. The same woman who has a whole room filled with a collection of teddy bears that she hand made with each loving stitch. A new grandmother, she is not new to caregiving. She was a nurse before semi-retiring and moving to Florida to look after her aging father.
We have known them for years by their friendly wave, but we have just started getting to know them. Susan, always interested in others, took the time to read my new blog yesterday and shared one of her favorite quotes above. It makes me wonder if you can be a stranger entertained by angels unaware as well.
Do you know your neighbors?
